Roloff Farms - 9. Photos - Party & Event Planning - Hillsboro, OR - Reviews. If you are a fan like me of TLC's "Little People, Big World," the reality show about the Roloff family, then you need to go on the golden pass tour at Roloff Farms in Helvetia, Oregon. It's a bit pricey, but worth every little penny. First of all, make sure you follow the signs (we went during pumpkin season which is ideal), parking is plentiful and organized, and check in with the staff for your golden pass tour (not to be confused with the wagon tour). I suggest you purchase items at the gift shop after the tour so you don't have to hold anything during your guided tour.
The main tour guides are the stars of the show, Matt and Amy Roloff. I went with fellow yelpers Trisha S. Johnathan S., and we were fortunate to have Amy Roloff as our personal tour guide.
It was the 3 of us and Amy as she drove us in the infamous mule. I was ecstatic, I felt like the reality show had become my reality! First off, she's super nice, friendly, genuine, and made sure we got the most we could out of this tour.
She drove us around the property and farm, telling us stories and behind the scenes information, it was amazing! I even added some facts that I knew from the show and she was like "oh wow, you are a fan of the show,".. I felt that from the look she gave me and body language: -) Moving on, as we ventured into the popular structures that were filmed on the show, Amy let us walk in the western town and take a photo with her. We felt like VIPs because the wagon tour people were taking photos as we were being toured by Amy. Throughout the whole tour, the western town was the only place where we got to walk around, other than that we had to stay on the mule.
At one point, when Amy took us through the barn where they host weddings and events, my complimentary photo I was given of her and Matt when I initially checked in and paid for the tour, dropped on the barn floor as she stopped to tell us about the barn. I said "oh my picture fell, hold on." Amy was a little startled because she was like "oh no, we can't stop here, we gotta keep moving." I quickly picked up the photo and showed it to her in which I thankfully replied "Got it!" She smiled and I was relieved. Another funny thing on the tour was that she stopped the mule and jumped out of the car because she saw some wooden benches that were down on the ground, she was like "I need to get Jacob to put these back up, that's not right." That was awesome to see Amy go from tour guide mode to mom mode in a split second. As our tour came to an end, we met Matt Roloff and took a photo with both of them, plus they autographed the photo they gave us in the beginning of our tour. Oh how I wish I videotaped the tour, but now you all just have to take my word for it that the Roloffs are real people just like any of us except that they are little (*paraphrased from their show).
